Silverado Supportive Care was born out of a deep recognition of the need for comfort, dignity, and support for those living with life-limiting illnesses. Doug joined the Silverado team in December of 2019, bringing over 15 years of hospice experience and dedication. After serving in the USMC, he started working in the medical field delivering and educating people with chronic illnesses on DME. This lead to an experience with hospice and the amazing services the team provides to patients and families in such a difficult time in the life journey. At that moment Doug decided to dedicate his career to quality end of life care. “I feel fortunate to work alongside the amazing people that deliver this vision to the patients and families that Silverado Hospice serves”.
Doug is a proud father of two young men, and husband to Liz who also shares his passion to serve others.

This proud California native and married father of two brings an extensive background in hospice care to Silverado Hospice San Diego. Loren S. Novak, DO is board certified in hospice and palliative medicine and dedicates himself to ensuring patients’ comfort and dignity. He is a member of several medical associations, which allows him to keep current and connected with the latest medical innovations and advancements. Dr. Novak completed his internship and residency at University of California, Irvine.

Patricia retired from the County of San Diego in 2013, after 25 years in the Health and Human Services division, and soon after joined Silverado Hospice as Director of Family and Support Services. She came to love hospice service as a per diem social worker at a hospice in San Diego. Having taught at SDSU in the School of Social Work and Grossmont College in the Sociology department, Patricia came to Silverado with a wealth of knowledge regarding resources, health programs and hospice care.
Patricia is proud to have such a dedicated team of social workers and spiritual counselors. She has been a field instructor for 15+ years with various universities, welcoming social work interns, many of whom now work on the Silverado team.
In her spare time, Patricia enjoys attending concerts, hosting Sunday dinner for her family, which includes four wonderful grandchildren and travelling.

Lauren Marilley RN was born in Loma Linda, CA, raised in Redlands CA, and earned her nursing degree from Stanbridge University in Irvine, CA.
She started as a LVN wound care nurse and worked her way through school for her RN and found her passion with hospice.
Lauren joined Silverado Hospice in 2021 as a Patient Care Manager, bringing 10 years of nursing experience. Her goal is to continue to bring a smile to others faces and relieve some of whatever stress their life is going through.
Outside of her role with Silverado, Lauren enjoys watercolor painting, reading, playing with her 2 dogs, and enjoying nature.

Melissa became a part of the Silverado family in 2024, bringing with her a decade of invaluable nursing experience. Her career began in 2015, where she started as a Registered Nurse Case Manager, dedicated to serving hospice patients. Melissa’s unwavering commitment quickly promoted her to a leadership position within the hospice team. Her passion lies in delivering exceptional, end-of-life care with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
Beyond her role, Melissa finds joy in golfing, beach visits and spending time with her husband and French Bulldog.

Scott earned a bachelor degree in Media Arts from California State University, Chico, and an associate degree in Fire Protection Technology from Mira Mar Fire Academy. He brings a wealth of experience across diverse roles in healthcare, including serving as an EMT, CPR instructor, safety officer, marketing coordinator and liaison. Scott began his journey in hospice care in 2014 and has been passionately dedicated to the field ever since!
Born and raised in La Costa San Diego, Scott is married to his college sweetheart, Emily. Together, they have two young boys and share a love for gaming, sports and camping. Additionally, Scott loves surfing, snowboarding, playing guitar, going to concerts and coaching for his sons’ sports teams.

Yvette joined Silverado fall of 2021, bringing with her 17 years’ experience in the managed healthcare and hospice sectors. Her background includes provider relations, community engagement/outreach, hospice marketing, and management.
As volunteer manager, she seeks to build upon and enrich Silverado’s programs and services while engaging and making certain volunteers not just meet expectations, but have a sense of ownership, worth and fulfillment in their role, whether administratively or through direct patient care. “I want every volunteer to feel good about their contributions of time and talent. I want them to know their value-added service truly makes a difference in the lives of our team and most importantly the lives of our patients and families facing the end-of-life.”
In her spare time, Yvette loves watching period pieces, listening to classical music, peoplewatching, and spending time with the people she loves.

Chelsey began her journey with Silverado in 2022 as a Registered Nurse Case Manager and earned a promotion to the leadership team in 2024. Her healthcare career started as a CNA, and she advanced into nursing in 2021 after graduating from the University of Washington.
Chelsea’s passion for caring for hospice patients blossomed through years of working alongside dedicated hospice nurses and staff. She is deeply committed to providing patients and families with exceptional care and support during life’s most challenging moments. In her leadership role, Chelsea strives to inspire her hospice team to not only meet but exceed the highest standards of care.
Outside of Silverado, Chelsey enjoys spending quality time at home, relaxing with family, attending her children’s extracurricular activities and cooking.

Olivia joined the Silverado team in June of 2016 as the receptionist, bringing with her six years of customer service experience. She worked hard learning many different skills in the administrative office, consequently earning her a promotion to Business Office Manager.
Olivia is a Navy wife with two amazing children. When she is not being an HR rockstar, Olivia enjoys art and listening to K-Pop.
