Juliet Laschiazza
Regional Volunteer Manager
Juliet Laschiazza
Regional Volunteer Manager
In 2005, Juliet experienced the profound loss of her dad, which sparked a deep desire to give back to others and provide support to those at the end of their lives. In 2009, she began volunteering with Silverado Hospice, hoping to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families. This experience provided a unique insight and knowledge of how hospice operates, both from the patients’ point of view as well as the administrative point of view. Juliet later joined the Silverado Hospice family in 2013 after accepting a position to join the team.
In 2016, Juliet’s mother was diagnosed with cancer, and by 2018, she was under the care of Silverado Hospice. During this time, she became not only her caregiver but also a volunteer. During her mother’s final days, Juliet sat by her bedside, played her favorite songs, held her hand and thanked her for being an amazing mom. This personal experience gave her a deeper understanding and passion for the compassionate services provided by hospice.
Juliet’s journey with Silverado Hospice has taught her that every day is a gift, even the final ones. She believes there is beauty in our last days and hours, and that it is possible to approach death with grace, acceptance and love rather than fear and discomfort.
